Getting the toilets right for any event is often overlooked. And choosing the right one is often led by budget.  Essentially you have three options:

  1.  Your House ToiletsFor home based events, with less than 30-50 people you could simply use the toilets in your house
  2. Portable Event Plastic ToiletsSimple, cost effective toilets.  No running water or lighting inside
  3. Luxury Loo TrailerProper toilets with running water for sinks, lighting and mirrors etc.

For some smaller events with guests up to 30, you could get away with using the downstairs toilets in your home without the need of hiring any external loos in.

However, if you’re planning on having more than 50 guests and want to keep everyone out or want to keep everyone out of the house, you will need to start thinking about using external toilet facilities.  Essentially you have two options.

  1.  Plastic Event Portable Toilets

The most cost effective option you have are the plastic portable event toilets.  They are the same type of loos that you find at festivals.  They are a very basic toilet often with no running water for a sink – so pump action alcohol gel is left inside.  There is no lights inside so if your event is in the evening you may want to buy some cheap battery powered LED lights online.

They’re just over a meter wide, so if you are wanting them around the back of your garden, you will need a double gate to get them in to fit. If you don’t, you may have to have them situated at the front if your event is taking place at home.

Plastic portable loos offer a cost effective and basic option – there are no sinks or power for lighting.

Typically the cost after delivery for 2x of these loo’s – enough for up to 80-100 guests would be around £300-£350.

2.  Luxury Toilet Trailer

If you are wanting something a little bit more classier, then a luxury loo trailer will be your best option.  They do tend to be double the price of the plastic toilets. However, they do come with lighting, heating, running water, and mirrors.  They offer a far more pleasurable loo experience as toilets go.  They do tend to take up a space as a large car.  So if you aren’t able to drive them near the marquee, the best place, again, will be situated on the front drive if your event is at home.

These luxury loo trailers don’t need water fed in as they have it all contained within the trailer itself.  They just need to be plugged in for power. These trailers tend to start around about £700-£900.

We would always recommend these type of toilets for high event private parties, weddings & corporate events.

Luxury loo trailers come with sinks with heated water, lighting, heating (for winter events) and just require plugging into a socket for power.  They do not require any plumbing as it is all self contained.

Are Marquees Warm Enough in Winter?

Luxury Loo trailer can also be installed inside a separate marquee, or at the end of a marquee with an internal wall for privacy.  This is a great option for winter based events as guests do not need to leave the marquee throughout the event.
